I’m doing an experiment this spring. It seems without fail that my seasonal allergies – which mostly present as sinus congestion – get worse after a particularly dairy intense meal. This is often yogurt at breakfast, or cheese any other time of day.
So today, instead of my usual Greek yogurt, I am trying…cultured coconut milk. The things I do in the name of scientific enquiry!
Actually, if you cut out dairy completely, you might have a completely different life experience in terms of sinus congestion. Dairy and congestion have a high correlation for many people:

Plus, almond milk and coconut milk are very tasty! You’ll never miss dairy, I promise!
Honestly, I wouldn’t miss milk, per se, because I never drink it straight. It’s the yogurt, sour cream, and cheese I would miss in a completely dairy-free life. The coconut milk yogurt was acceptable, btw – much better than soy yogurt substitutes. I’ve already discovered the joys of coconut milk ice cream…I wonder what else it could be used as a base for!
